"Boredom is...a vital problem for the moralist, since half the sins of mankind are caused by the fear of it" [Bertrand Russell The Conquest of Happiness]

That is life around the King house for the last few weeks. BORING……Dull, Stale, prosaic and I am going OUT OF MY MIND.

All this because Vickie had to go and get herself a bionic knee. Yep, her dumb old knee finally gave out all the way and she had to go in and have it replaced with, well, I don’t know what she had it replaced with but she promises me that after another two weeks or so, we will get back to our regular schedule of walks, parks, mountains, and playing with my other doggy friends

I guess, it is pretty serious though. I mean when she was changing the bandages I got to look at it and smell it and well, I could tell (Because I am special) that this was a very painful experience for her. So I am going to try really hard to be patient with her.

Thank goodness, THANK GOODNESS, that I have my other family, the Kellys. They still come and take me out on adventures almost every other day and so I can’t really complain too much……

Like this last Saturday we went to the park and this time they took Jamie too. But she couldn’t go too far so we mostly just played in the fields. There were a whole bunch of fun videos that they took but my favoirite is the one that has Betty in it. Click on this link to youtube to see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKsicCYaWVk Oh yea, that Betty, she is a love.

My buddy Ben left for his mission this week. He came by to give his aunt Vickie a hug last night. I am going to miss Ben and so will my friends Dougal (Who Ben took for walks all year) and my other buddy and pal that lives with Ben, “Harley”. I was planning on doing some hiking with them guys this summer but now it looks like it may be more likely two years before we play again.

I wrote to My Brother Bear who lives with Vickie’s Sister Debbie in Idaho Falls and asked if he wanted to be a guest writer since I don’t have as much to talk about this week too and was excited to hear from him yesterday. Bear is a year older than me and he came from New York.

He is generally a pretty happy dog but he sounded a little put out in his note below. I think he is a little jealous of his older brother Basil cause of some beauty contest. I may have to go up and take Bear out for a hike or something in the next few weeks to help him get over his little issues. He has it pretty good, I mean he just lives with another guy dog. I better go let him know that that is much preferable to living with a ton of girls… So meet my buddy Bear everyone.

Hello Everyone,

I am your new Idaho Correspondent and want to give you a little intro and update as to what has been happening here.

First of all, Look at this beautiful face. Have you ever seen such a good looking dog, even when I smell funny and need a good bath. Well, I can't believe that Old Geezer that lives with me was picked Pet of the Month for April in South East Idaho.

Basil is going to be getting the royal treatment soon. A day at the Spa, a photo shoot, by someone other than the famous photographer, Deborah Gill, and a full page spread in the local paper. Can you believe it. And all he does is open the back door and sleep under the table.

Now me on the other hand. I bark, I chase squirrels, I drool on people and every night at 9:30 I play with Elder Medina, my favorite Hawaiian, and get fur all over his suit pants.

My owner has a new digital frame and her computer guy showed her how to put 10,000 pictures of her grandkids on it. Now when I'm inside I get to see 1/10th of the pictures she has taken. This gives a new meaning to the question, "Do you want to see my cute grandkids?"

Speaking of Grandkids, I can't wait for Corbon to come over in April and stay for a couple of days. He feeds me lots, opens the back door and throws out anything he can get his hands on and is fun to play with.

Garrett is the one that has been having all the fun and since I was taken to vet to be neutored I've calmed down a little so they like me more. I still have trouble waiting for goodies but that will come with time.

That's about all for now.................
Keep the food coming and we'll see ya'll later.

Thanks Bear for writing. Next week we get to hear from an iguana, a kitty cat and who knows what......I am liking this guest writer stuff......Enjoy a video of Saturdays walk....
