Outdone and Doneout

Boy My Vickie has outdone herself this year.  I thought last year was a great Birthday Week.
Well, I was wrong.

This year is the GREATEST.   Except, I was just wondering (between you, my blogville friends and me)  "How much longer is this going to go on......I am so exhausted"

So last night after the birthday cake and party for me here at Canine Country Club, My buddy Goose, his human and My Vickie went for a ride.  We ended up "Can you guess where"
Up in my mountain, by my lake and bless that Gooses moms heart, she thru sticks for me the whole evening.  THE WHOLE EVENING.
Goose was a little perturbed at her total attention on me, but, well, It was my Birthday Week after all.
We came to a place where there was a sign on the beach.  Now why would they have a sign on a beach by a mountain lake?  So we sat on a rock in front of the sign cause:  "No Dogs" are allowed on the beach.  No one said anything about the big rocks.
After that bad beach, we went for a drive and found another lake and it was even better.  I found this pile of black slime to play in and in the middle of the black slime was a big slimy stick, which I promptly pulled out and brought back to my buddy Goose.
And because I shared, guess who threw more stuff in the water for me to dive in after
Yep.....Gooses mom.  I have great friends.
Today we were up early and met with Annie and Murphy and drove for three hours to BEAR LAKE.  I love Bear Lake and I always know that when I get there I get a ton of kids to play with.
We meet on the East Shore of the lake and all the kids come and listen to My Vickie and Paulette teach about how to stay safe in the mountains and what to do if you get lost.

Then after we let the kids run and hide from us and we go find them.  It is all just great fun.
Today my friend Zoey and his persons Brenda and Todd joined us.  They are the search dog team that lives in Bear Lake.  It was so great to see them.
After the kids, it was SWIMMIN time.  Oh my gosh, I had the whole lake.  It is such a great lake.  It is like a gazillion miles long and 1/2 a gazillion miles wide and it is cold and wonderful.
My Vickie says it is not crystal clear right now because of all the run off but in the summer you can see all the way to the bottom when you are in a boat.  You can hang over the side and watch the big fish swim along side you.  It is AMAZING
Even Murphy got wet and a little sandy.
This picture is just for Goose's mom Michelle cause they couldn't come cause they were watching the kennel for us and we know that Michelle and Goose LOVE to go fishing and we caught this guy in the middle of his leap out of the water and his dive back in.
And we saw this little family of Gooses and that is for you too, Goose.
Eventually it was time to come home.  We were all so tired.  It is good My Vickie was able to find this big old van that carry's all of us in the style and comfort we are used to.
My Vickie and I always stop for a picture along the roadside at this little waterfall that comes out from "Logan Caves" which is a place she used to go spelunking at, only now they have the cave sealed off cause people kept dying in it.  (Oh My Vickie, what were you thinking)
And then I get home and guess what is waiting for me in the mail?  You guessed it.  Remember I told you that my Girl Charlotte had sent me a Birthday present but she was worried it wouldn't get here in time.  Well my love, it was only two days late and now I have it and I really needed it today cause I was still wet by the time we got home.
My Vickie wrapped it around me and it warmed me to my heart.  Thank you so much my love.

And My Vickie was so excited because you thought of her too and sent her "The little Austrian Cookbook" and she was excited to see  It is in English.  Her first try is going to be the Roast with Onions Zwieberlostbraten.  I'll let you know how that turns out.

Well, I am off to bed and so is My Vickie.
And I hate to say this, but I hope she doesn't have anything planned for me tomorrow, other than our walk with my buddies, Goose, Murphy, Annie, Logan and Baci, cause I am pooped.

My Vickie says to tell you that we will be catching up with all of your posts this weekend cause we haven't been home much......because of me......

Love
Bert

It's the birthday that never ends, it goes on and on my friend. I gotta tell ya when I heard that you were going to Bear Lake without me I was a bit upset. But MOM said if we didn't help out at the kennel you would have to stay at home. Well I could not let all those little ones not have the opportunity to be with you and learn from you. Besides I got to play with you in your mountain place.
I have to tell ya though when MOM saw the fish I thought she was going to go jealous of all kinds. You know how she loves to fish. Rest up buddy of mine for tomorrow we walk.
Blessings,
Goose

Oh I forgot to tell you. MOM just started flooding the yard. You should come over and play in the yard. It's like a giant pond. She will be flooding until 1:05 AM so come on over.
Blessings,

Happy LOOOONNNNNGGGGG Birthday Week, Bert! I just saw your exciting shenanigans over at Gospel of Goose. He was really patient while him MOM threw sticks for you. You totally deserved it. Wonderful work you're doing with children. As I've said before, you put children and dogs together and it's pretty much Heaven. They're the perfect storm of awesome.

Hey Bert,

I don't know how you keep up with all the excitement buddy!! I'm pooped just reading about it!!

I thought it was funny how you got SO mucky when you were playing with the sticks and then in the next pictures you were magically all clean again the next day to go and visit the children, Tah Dah!!

And then of course afterwards you were back in the water!!

Have a fun, relaxing weekend, though I suspect it won't be too relaxing knowing you :)

Your pal Snoopy :)

Oh, Bert, we're so sorry we missed your birthday. Happy belated birthday! We have some catch up reading to do, but it sounds like you had a wonderful birthday week. We're very fond of birthweek celebrations; a mere birthday seems inadequate.

Bear Lake sure looks fun and they allow dogs to go swimming. :)

Every time I see Bert covered in black slime I marvel at how handsome you always manage to make him look afterward. I cringe when Duncan gets his feet muddy, but then I probably don't have the resources to clean up like you do. Still, it's like a little mini-miracle each and every time he comes clean!

Bear Lake is a wondrous place, and not too far from where I grew up in southeast Idaho. I'm happy you enjoyed it!
