Day Three of My Birthday Week

Boy what a great week, but I am exhausted.  Just how long will My Vickie keep celebrating my Birthday...
For instance today.  Just plain non stop.  Up at 5 am,  work in the kennels, clean, fresh water, scoop, pick up beds, etc etc.   and of course I have to supervise.

Then at ten we are off to the hospital.  But I gotta say, I am loving that part of our work.
Like today, as we were on our way into the hospital, there was this guy on a ladder.  On the top of a ladder and no one was holding the ladder steady for him.
Now you humans should know that that is very dangerous, even if you are working at a hospital where you could get medical treatment immediately after you fall.   So I helped steady his ladder for him.
Then to my great joy I found that it is Wednesday and now on Wednesday's I get to work with Murphy.  Now I may get a bit jealous when all the humans pay attention to him over me cause he is "Different" looking, but he is my buddy so I guess I can let that slide.

When I got back home after work, my Buddy James Dean was waiting with a surprise for me.
Yep, he had made me a cake.  a very fun cake.  Wow, a bacon cake from my girl Charlotte and another cake from my buddy James Dean.
My Vickie cut the cake up so I could share it with all my friends at the day care.
Me and Abby got the first sniffs.  BUT
 I got the first piece.
Sweet Jamie got piece number two.
Did I mention that all my basset buddies came.  Yep all the pups that James Dean and his family have fostered in the last little while came.  Holly, Rocky, and O'Malley.  IT was like a Basset Reunion.
James Dean, thanks a bunch for remembering me.

I got two final surprises at the end of the day.  One was this cool "Edible" Birthday card and a ball from my buddy Goose, and finally Goose and Me got to go up into the mountains to my favorite lakes and we swam and hiked and played and got in swamps and well, just had a ball.

My Vickie is going to show you some pictures of that tomorrow after I get Day Four of my birthday week in "BEAR LAKE"  the most beautiful lake in my whole world.

So run on over to Goose's blog for a preview.  Man I am a lucky guy.

Now I gotta go to sleep.....

Bert

Hi Bert, I'm not sure whether James Dean's mom made the cake and decorated but I am so impressed. I've never seen a doggy birthday cake before. I'm thankful that Hunter can't read yet because he'd been letting me know he expects one for his birthday in Dec. So glad you had such a good day with Goose.

Dude you are having the best birthday week ever! And I just loved going to your special place in the mountains to celebrate with you. It was THE BEST! Now you get to go to Bear Lake? Oh Dog that is one of my most favorite places. Hope you get pictures cuz I have to stay at your day care and make sure all goes well here. Plus I have to go to Dr. Eddie's also. I'll tell him you said hello. Don't forget we have a play date on Friday with all our other friends. Since you will be at Bear Lake would you tell me where the leftover cake is? I just think I should keep an eye on it for you.
Blessings,
Goose

Wow, you work hard all morning, then get a GRREAT afternoon! How exciting. It was nice of James Dean to bring you a cake, and even nicer of you to share it!

I need to look into this idea of getting a birthday week instead of just one day...

Happy birthday Bert! I'm not sure if I missed the start of your birthday week because The Typist has been slack but it sounds like I still have a couple more days to catch up. That cake looks to-die-for. Even The Typist is drooling.

How cool that you helped the human hold the ladder! I hope he thanked you properly. My Cushion has fallen off his tall ladder at least twice!

Hooroo for now! x
