Yes, she knows about a back up but our back up drive crashed a few weeks ago and she didn't get a new one.
If it weren't for all the fun we are having we might find this depressing. We miss posting on everyones blog, but know that we are ready them as often as blogger lets us.
So, I am still camping, swimming, working, visiting, therapy, and playing with my friends. (We found these pics left on the camera card...YEAH)
Check out the double moon. If you look close you will see one in the sky and one in the water. Great Times. Before we go, My Vickie has a question for all you therapy dogs out there.
How do you handle all the emotions that you deal with when you are visiting the very very sick. Like when I go to the hospital and I get up in bed, or sit in a chair by the side of some of you sweet humans who are in so much pain, I kind of try to take some of your pain away. It can be a little much for my sweet spirit to deal with.
So what My Vickie does, after I visit the hospital, she takes me camping with my buddy Goose, or sometimes we just go, me and My Vickie.....or we head to my favorite swimming hole for a swim.
Our question is...Is it ok to delay my "Happy Time" for a few hours while we finish work and then head up into the mountains, or should she give me some "Happy Time" immediatly after we leave the hospital.
We would kind of like to know what some of you do after visits to rebuild the "Fun" of life and help us deal with the "Sad" we just saw.
Thanks
Love
Bert

So sorry to hear about all of your computer issues and your lost picture. However that one with the double moon is stunning! Hope you have a nice weekend.
Bummer!!!! I hate it when that happens and I also do not like backing up. It is so much hassle. Well, consolation is I am SURE your Vickie will have tonnes of photos soon, as you are so cute and full af adventures. We will get to see more of you, very soon is my prayer.
Miss you,
Sankissjuice
Hi Bert, So very happy to see you this morning; I'm so sorry about your computer problems and hope your Vickie will get it all worked out soon-cause we miss you dude.
Love the pics! I can't answer the question about giving you happy time but I know the love you give to those in hospitals is so valuable and precious. Keep it up but take care of Vickie and yourself.
Hugs, Noreen & Hunter
So nice to see you back. Bert you are such a good dog that what ever you want to do is surely OK. Have a fabulous Friday.
Best wishes Molly
Sorry you're having such computer issues. As for your question, I would just go with your heart. Somedays you might need to run and play right away and others might be best to be still and wait. I really believe your heart will tell you. Also, sometimes you might need to be with your friends ie. Goose and his MOM and other times it might be you need some quiet time to reflect on the situation.
Take care...
Can you has your stuffs transferred to anudder hard drive? We did dat awhile back, it wasn't cheap but they was ables to do it.
I wished I could answer your question but I ain't a therapy dog...most peoples need thereapy afters meetin' me.
But what I DO knows is dat da work you and your Vickie does is priceless and admirable. It is a beautiful thing to be ables to visit those in da hospitals and gives them some love and maye some encouragement.
Puddles
We really hope your computer issues sort out soon. So sorry you lost so many photos. :( And this reminds us to remind Mommy to back up all our photos!
You leave RIGHT AWAY from the hospital with your friend Goose. That is the best thing to do. There should be no delay.
Blessings,
Goose

Gee Buddy, we don't have any answers for you on this one. But we do know that Goose and his mom would help you to See Beautiful again!
Your friends,
Murphy & Stanley
Sorry about your computer woes. At least you have all the pictures that are on your blog to look at.
Cindy
I think you need to have a little happy time right away, like a special treat and some snuggles, and then it's okay to delay the big happy time for a little while. But you need something right away to take your mind off the sadness.
Sorry to hear about the computer stuff. That really stinks.
As per the happy times thing - I'm not a therapy dog, but I've heard this saying. It goes something like CARPE DIEM! Translating from the Latin, it means SIEZE THE CARP! Or something like that. Which means you should go fishing with your bestest friend Goose right after your hospital visits. Seriously. Run it by Goose - I'll bet he'll agree!
Play bows,
Zim
I say take it while you can get it, right away! Loved the photographs and I'm glad you mentioned the double moon. You looked so gorgeous that I almost forgot to see the beauty in back of you.
We can't help you there....not being therapy dogs. but you are doing such valuable work.
Computers are a huge FRUSTRATION at times!
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
I send u a hug of luv and good luck. (((Hug))). :)
Oh, we don't have any good answer for this one other than just go with the flow. Bert seems easy going and will be happy with a big hug and a treat, then the big fun later.
You can still pull a lot of the pics you have on the blog. Your photos are always so beautiful, that is such a shame. Maybe you can do what Puddles suggested. Could that have anything to do with why you couldn't get on Blogger, maybe your PC was infected or something.
Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
We are sorry to hear about your computer problems too...having been there! The pictures here are great!! We don't know very much about therapy dogs except what we have learned from you! You make the people you visit so very happy! Xoxo Chloe and LadyBug
Hi Bert,
I’m not a therapy dog, but this is how my human and I cope. You see sometimes she takes me when she goes to visit her sick relation who won’t be getting well and is in full time care. Unfortunately I can’t go inside, but look through the window, and wait for when my human comes out of the place. These visits are often very difficult for her - there are days when things are really bad due to his various health issues. What seems to help, is after she visits, we drive to the nearest big park and walk and walk and walk and look at the flowers and trees and walk some more. Nothing too energetic – just walking, being in the fresh air and seeing nature. Sun, wind, rain and all. We keep walking away from the car until mum feels a bit better (this can be a long walk some days!), then we turn around and walk back and get on with our day. Later in the day we do “fun doggie stuff”, but these walks are our way of transitioning between what were we have just been and “day to day life”. It also means when she gets home, she is less upset around the rest of her family.
I know for you and your Vickie, the moods are round the other way and you often visit more than one sick person (it is a wonderful thing that you do!), but perhaps there is some sort of transition activity that you could do (to help both of you) so you leave the really fun things for other times when you boyh start them in a better mood.
Woofs,
Riley
Oh no! Your silly puter!! Losing all your pics would be so sad!!
What a bummer about all of your pictures. Puter problems are the worst!
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
Geez! The puter eating beast must be livin in your forest :O Hopefully, now that he's eatin everything with a puter chip in your house he'll look elsewhere for his meals!
That soooo bites that all your photos :( Guess it's time to make some new ones! :D
Waggin at ya,
Roo
Your computer problems are becoming epic. Maybe, just maybe, someone can retrieve the files from either your puter or your backup. I had that done once by a good technician.
I love love love the double moon photo!
As for recovering after a visit that made you sad, I don't know. We aren't as talented as you so we have never had a therapy dog who made visits like Bert's. But, I think that whenever you can fit in a fun time afterwards would work out fine. Even just some hugs for Bert and a tiny game of fetch right after the visit would probably tide him over until you have time for a longer fun outing.
My closest thing (and it's not even close) is Shyla and me recovering from our socialization trips into the town. It's incredibly stressful for her and even for me (as I try to figure out how to handle her fears) - and I find that we just need a little time sitting outside in the beautiful world of our home. Sometimes Shyla doesn't want to sit still and gets the zoomies instead. I guess that she knows what she needs to recover...
I admire you and Bert so much.
So sorry about the computer. It has happened to just about everyone I imagine and the idea of backing up always comes just after everything is lost. I hope you will take many more photos of all your adventures to make up for the loss.
Button and Barney are not therapy dogs, but I believe they feel that just being with one or both of their people is a special time for them, so they wouldn't mind waiting for the deliriously happy play times until there has been a little time to recover from the sadness.
Computer problems suck! You certainly made up for your picture loss with that amazing photo of the moon!
We just had a minor malfunction too!
What a bummer about your computer! I don't have any good ideas for your sads. It seems like it would be a very hard thing to do.
Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Howdy Bert, we aren't therapy doggies by a long shot but when our angel Nana was sick for a long time, it made mum very sad too so Brucey and Kara just had heaps of cuddles with her and kept her close all the time. Sometimes you need to put yourself first and as you do, have a little time away just to gather your thoughts. You are doing a marvellous job but take care of yourself too friends. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory (and Carol)
Deare Bert, Vickie and Allred,
Me thinks that Bert deserves treats or a good game of catch after he gets out of the hospital. No word of a lie, my hairy slobbery sisters goes to Dairy Queen after they has has a tough time at the vets. Me knows it is noting like what yous does Bert, but they do loves Dairy Queen and they knows that a after they gets a treat so they behaves.
Me loves the p[ictures. And me is sorry yous is having blogger problems.
Me has a busy Mommy problem.
Kisses
Nellie
Love the wet doggie pictures. We look forward to more from your world, Bert. Thanks for sharing.
Dear Bert, it's so good to see you back again. How very sad that Your Vickie lost all her pictures. There were some really good ones too. Maybe she has your blog backed up and saved somewhere? Cushion just did that for The Typist for which she will be eternally grateful. The double moon picture looks like a painting! You live in such a pretty place.
I'm sorry I can't help you with the therapy dog question because I'm just an ordinary house dog.
BIG HUGS! Your friend, Georgia X
