Can't Give Up. Gotta Keep Hiking

I can hardly stand it.  It hasn't snowed yet and the mountains are still full of color, so I convinced My Vickie to take me back up AGAIN.  That is like 4 times in one week.  And the thing was,  it was so easy to convince her to go.
We invited Goose and his mom Michelle to come too.  While they were fishing, My Vickie and I decided to see what was at the top of the hill by the lake.

We came to a beautiful meadow surrounded by aspens spun with gold.  They sparkled in the blue background of the sky and if you listen closely (after the wind blows the first 10 seconds, you can hear it rustling through the trees)  a beautiful heavenly sound.

WE hiked around for a bit and of course I covered like ten miles and my Vickie went half a mile.  She said it was tough cause it was along a steep mountainside and she was trying to keep from falling off the steep and underbrushed hillside.  (yeah yeah yeah).
WE finally made our way back to the lake where
it was time to.....
You Guessed it.....
SWIM and SWIM AND SWIM
My Vickie threw sticks for me for about half an hour.  If you look in the picture above and to the right, you can just barely see my buddy Goose and his human fishing.  They were not even mad that I was making so much noise that it might scare the fish away.  In fact, they just stopped their fishing and came over and Michelle started throwing my stick for me more.  Goose rooted me on.  Can you hear his voice echoing through the woods.

 It was a GREAT TIME.......

I can never get enough of my time up in the mountains.
So I am pretty tired now, but I thought I would leave you with this cool picture of me and Michelle watching the sunset.  Sometimes My Vickie gets jealous cause I like Goose and Michelle so much, but she shouldn't worry.  I know that she is my Best friend and I am hers.  It is good to have friends, but Family is always the part that brings you home at night and lets you sleep with sweet dreams.

Love
Bert

I watched that video with you jumping into the lake twice. And every time you made that huge splash, I laughed. It's just so much FUN! Why didn't Goose join in to swim and fetch Stick? I thought that us his thing.

Talk soon.

This is my thought. Miss Vickie should not be jealous at all. You love her the best. But you know what my MOM says? Sometimes our friends are our family. For me and my MOM that is very true.
Blessings,
Goose

Oh my sweet darling - I enjoy so much that you are with your whole family! I'm a little bit ashamed of saying I enjoy my little family and my friends too and you remember my birthdayparty... I don't know how to say and tell it to you...but maybe I need a little bit more time... maybe I should stay a little closer to my friends here... and maybe we should wait with our marriage a little bit...It's not easy for me - and it's just a thougt - but maybe I should take some experiences and maybe... Oh Darling I don't know - be sure I love you but please let's wait a little bit!Kisses your Charlotte

Dear Bert, I'm almost certain Your Vickie is the strongest woman I know. She's forever climbing and trekking, and tossing sticks for half an hour? Mate! She must have biceps of steel. Beautiful day and what a view from up there! X

Bert I need a lake like that to swim in. Is it as clean and clear as it looks in the pictures? The only thing I have is a nasty old pond in a dog park. It's totally gross.

You did take the mugwort with you on your hike and then buried it somewhere, right?? RIGHT??!!!

Beautiful pictures Bert! It is nice that Goose and his mom don't get bothered by the fishes getting scared off. I think Goose's mom knows that sometimes a guy just HAS to swim!

BERT... THAT was a PERFECT trip. The colors were JUST RIGHT. The Company was SUPER and the SWIMMING was OBVIOUSLY FANGtastic.
Isn't a Fall Day a Gift to TREASURE?
Your Vickie should KNOW that she comes FURst in Your Book.

Yeah, what is up with this 'no snow yet' thing? Mom says it's a sign that we're going to have a heavy snow year (and she says this with dread, as she's not looking forward to driving Parley's in the snow). Who knows. We want snow zoomies! However, in the meantime, we are going to chase all the deer that dare step foot on our property! And if Mom's ankle ever gets better (she can bike but she can't hike?!? what's up with THAT?!?) maybe we'll go hiking. Or maybe by then we'll be doing snow zoomies!

With every day, I expect to see a big layer of snow appear on the mountains... but it hasn't yet. So, we follow your motto - "don't give up, keep hiking". It sure looks like you had lots and lots of fun! I love that photo of you and Michelle!

Thanks for sharing this great day with me Bert... wish I would be such a great swimmer like you and I could sit on the front seat too - I'm always "banned" on the back seat, that's unfair ...

Bert, you is a pawsome 'triever. I like to do that too. Big sticks, balls, anything that floats. You are so lucky to have a bestest friend to throw the stick and feed you groceries. Hoomans are the best....right?

Just stunning, and again reminds me so much of Alaska with all the bright colors--You can just feel fall in the air and winter coming! I would love it too!!

I had to grin at Bert liking Michelle and Goose--Our dogs do the same thing when company comes, or we visit family--I think it's because they know how much we love them! :-)

Hi Bert,

Though we have more mountain shots to share, we have been here at the shore for a week. I keep wondering how the color is developing. We head back shortly and I'm sure we'll be greated with spectacular color. In the meantime I'm so glad you are sharing yours.

Y'all come by now,
