My Week So Far & other fun stuff

Hey everyone, we are almost ready to put the post on the Safety Week but tonight we wanted to just do a fiddle  post as we watched "Survivor"  My Vickies most favorite show.
Sweet Willa wanted to say Hi......so Hi....from Willa
Today was Gus's 9th birthday.  Can you beleive he has been here with us for nine years.  And Cleo will be 11 years old on her next birthday.  We did a short video of the birthday guests.  We all played and swam and had a great day.  Thanks Gus for being born.

My Vickie wants to thank everyone who has donated to the Homeless shelter for the doggy's.  You guys have been amazing.  We even got a piggy bank the other day and some of you have put change baskets on your desks and other people are helping by putting money in your baskets.  Some of you are generously sending money, bringing money and well,   we are just so great-ful for all your respons.

They told us the other day when they came and collected some of the money that I can have a contest to help pick the name for the doggy part of the Homeless shelter.  So watch for the contest.

Can't say thanks enough....oh and Don't stop.....
One day we saw this cool cloud.  What can you see in it.  WE see a grumpy old man with no teeth.  Then My Vickie had to play with the picture.
 PRetty cool, isn't it.
Now lets do one of Abby
 Very Interesting......
I didn't really go water skiing, but I can pretend......
A sad note is that we lost our Sweet Sarah last weekend.  She has been with her loving family for about 14 years.  Her big brother Charlie was one of My Vickies first dogs to come to Canine Country Club back in 1995.  We will miss her very much.
This picture made My Vickie so sad.  We took Jamie up in the mountains with us Monday.   She was so excited to come.  She just layed in the back of the van and you could see her nose go like crazy as she smelled her beloved surroundings as we drove down the old dirt road.  Now that she is so old and cant walk for very long, plus she is almost all blind and can't hear, My Vickie is afraid she will wander off and get lost.  so she doesn't get to come with us often.

Seeing Jame struggle along, then get a little panicky because she doesn't know where we were, well we just cant' take a chance.  It hurt My Vickies Heart to realize that Miss Jamie cannot come when we go camping any more.
On the up side.  Guess what was wandering around camp.
Some of them are still loosing their velvet and it is a bit icky to see, but it is part of the process each year.
They are still a little calm, but the rutting season is not far away so shots like this are going to become less and less likely.
Well, thats it for now.......
Don't forget to check in Thursday night or Friday morning for more information on:

Happy Birthday to Gus!! Very Handsome Doggie :)
Good pictures of your Moose pals. The antler velvet thing is strange...wonder what that feels like for the moose?

Happy Birthday to Gus- what a handsome fellow! Many gorgeous poodles in attendance - as my Pack quickly noted! As well as other adorable pups too! We really enjoyed the party pictures & song.

Fantastic moose shots! We see them in Anchorage too-sometimes they wander onto our property, things get very exciting when that happens.

Sending hugs to Miss Jamie, & will keep her in our prayers & it is never easy to say goodbye to an old faithful companion :(

Sounds like a crazy busy week so far. I am so sorry for your loss of Sarah. Never easy letting a loved one go and even harder watching them struggle such as Jamie is now. Gus looks like he had a great birthday. : )

What a terrific Birthday Party for Gus! Happy Birthday dude! :D Really enjoyed the video. Great song :)

I saw a puppy in the cloud! :) You did have some cool fun playing with the photos :D

Glad you mentioned the moose with the red antlers was just loosing his velvet. I first thought he'd been in a terrible fight and didn't even want to see what the other guy looked like :O

So sorry to hear about your Sarah. Run free dear Sarah.

Will keep Jamie in my most pawsitive thoughts.

Waggin at ya,
Roo

PeeS: Burt how is it that all your parts are handsome? Just not right I say ;)

Such a packed post!!! Happy Birthday to Gus - there sure are a lot of happy pups in that video. Soft woos to Sarah's family - such a grand age she lived to be. And poor Jamie, it is tough to get old, Phantom would so agree. We bet she did enjoy that trip camping even if she couldn't do a lot.

We can see that grumpy old man - he should be smiling at all you happy pups.

Hi Bert and Hi Willa. Happy Birthday to Gus too. We are sorry about your friend Sarah. Your Miss Jamie reminds us of our angel Kara. She loved to come out with Mum but couldn't walk far or see much or hear much but she had fun all the same. Give her puppy kisses from us and a gentle hug from Mum. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

So much news! Happy Birthday to Gus. I'm glad you had fun celebrating!

I was sad to read of Sarah... she reminded me of my yellow lab who we lost 2 years ago when he was almost 14.

The moose photos are amazing. I'd never seen velvet coming off and the bleeding involved. Oh my. They are weird but handsome animals.

Finally, I know how hard it is when your very loved older dog can't do some of the things that she used to do. I'm glad that Jamie had a nose-twitching good time with you... and I know that you'll figure out smaller adventures to have with her. She looks like such a sweetie!

Those are some beautiful pictures and some happy pups! And I learned something new about moose! Thanks for the great tour, and love to the senior sweetie Jamie. I think they still get a lot of joy out of being with us, even when they can't do as much.

A lot going on in that post. First, I have no doubt you could water ski, given the chance.

I was sad to read about your friend, Sweet Sarah. Always difficult to lose a close pal.

And it was happy to see Jamie out on a walkie exploring and whatnot. My Grandpa Angus was kind of deaf and blind too when he got older, but he did still enjoy smelling all the great outdoor smells.

Slobbers,
Mango
