Week in a Glance

OK, we lucked out and got on blogger tonight so after visiting as many of you as we could, My Vickie said we could show you some more pictures of ME.

This has been a busy week but it also has been a fun week.  Like Monday Me, My Vickie, Goose, Miss Michelle, Trigger and John all met up in the mountains for a fun evening of swimming and hiking..
Tuesday was my day at the hospital and we also went in Tuesday Night and Wednesday morning.  That is a lot of time for a guy like me.  My Vickie was worried that I might have taken on too much pain and sadness from the patients so Wednesday night her and me went back up into the mountains to spend the night.
The weather is getting colder but nature is putting on a beautiful show.   The leaves were especially beautiful as the maples and the aspens mixed their colorful joy throughout the mountainside.
The Yellows were so yellow, the oranges and reds so vibrant
There were places that the color would fill my coat with a strange shade that My Vickie could not name.
And of course there was Swimming at the lake.
We came across this guy who has survived the hunt.  We are always so fearful during the hunt and we always lose friends, like this year, the twins were both killed by hunters.
This guy has been around for many years and it looks like he had a few battles during the rut.
Check out the missing spikes on his left antler.

When we got back Thursday morning we had much much work to make up for but we still got to go for our walk with friends Thursday night.  Friday was a work day all around, but that is ok, cause I know My Vickie has to work so that we can play too.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and thanks for still visiting us even though we are not around so much.

My Dear Charlotte, just want you to know I think of you all the time.

Love
Bert

Bert, we are so glad you are able to get out in your mountains there and relax after all the hard work both you and your Mom do. The colors are so pretty there. And oh, that shot of you with the beautiful leaves all around is amazing.

Hope you and Mom can find time to enjoy the weekend.

I'm glad that you've been to the mountains so many times. Winter arrived here just as I was planning a big hike. Oh well! I can smile at your photos!

I feel the same way about the hunt... I worry about my friends among the wildlife. That's why you haven't seen the humongous bull elk who has a whole harem of females living just behind my house on my blog. He's big!

I hope that you have a restful weekend.

hey Bert,

So furry happy to see you back. Your photos are incredible, and I especially love the one of you in the reddish-orange leaves. Gorgeous!

I am sad to read of the loss of the Twins by the hunters, but furry happy the big ol' guy made it through o.k.

Your mom is smart to give you a break from your hospital duties. It is a wonderful job you have but I agree that the sadness and pain can become overwhelming. It is so inspiring that you work the hospitals. :->

Hey, your Internet is behaving itself! Autumn colours are so lovely. It would be my favourite season if not for the impending darkness and cold ;)

Sad about the moose (mooses? meese?). This sounds like a yearly cull. Best not to make friends, or maybe hide them when the hunters come round. Sigh.
