Many of you said it,
but we didn't believe.
We were just sure that Allred
had met his end and was never
ever coming back.
WE WERE WRONG.
At 2:25am we were all awakened from
our slumber by a screaming cat.
"I'M HOME and I'M HUNGRY!!!"
With Delight, My Vickie bolted out of
bed and ran to welcome our wanderer home.
She greeted him with hugs and kisses and tears.
But he didn't want that.... NOT YET.
he wanted Food. Food. Food
Poor Allred was starving and no amount
of love and attention was going to dis-sway him
from making his point.
"FOOD"
After he had filled his very empty
belly, My Vickie took him over to see his
Christmas Present from TANK
Although he had nothing bad to say,
he didn't seem that impressed either.
I'm sure when he has had some rest
he will show his appreciation.
He slept the rest of the night
in My Vickie's arms as she was
unwilling to put him down
When we all got up to
go about our day, she put him on
a chair on top of her coat
and other than changing position
that is where he has been ALL day.
Seriously, he has slept ALL DAY
You might notice in the picture above
how sore his little feet are.
They are pretty bruised up and
worn down deep into the pads.
And he has lost a ton of weight.
We don't know what has happened
in the last 30 or so days
but My Vickie things Miss Paulette
may have been right when she wondered if
Allred got in someones car and went home
with them. Where-ever they went
it must have been a far far place
because we think Allred has been
trying to find his way home since then.
All we know for sure though,
is that we got our Christmas Miracle
and we are so very grateful
to have him back home with us.
(or at least My Vickie is)
sleep last night he mentioned something
about knowing you said he could
whap you all he wants if he comes home.
Any idea of what he is talking about.
Thanks everyone for wishing him home.

Yea, yea I know what he is talking about. I better wear my tough furs when I come in the morning. I did say if he came home he could whap me around =d all he wanted. Not sure what I was thinking. I guess I just wanted him to come home so bad I would say anything. But a promise is a promise. I am so glad you are home Allred, I really am. Hey Bert! You were not the only dog to get a miracle today. So did I. You'll have to read all about it. And you WILL NOT believe it.

Good to see he made it home. My Tyrone would take a little vacation from us every summer. he would disappear for about 3-4 weeks and then come on home. I guess he needed to make sure he could still catch his own food and survive on his own without being pampered by those with thumbs.

Just when I got my eyes all dried up after Goose's tree post I come here to such wonderful news! I can't tell you how happy I am for you and Miss Vickie, Bert. This stroy has brought back so many memories of when my Sylvester was lost and showed up 2 months later exactly like Allred, very thin battered and starving!
