Guest Writer "Oak"

Dang it, I knew something was up. Vickie has been cleaning, and packing and making lots of calls and it looks like Judy is moving in for a few days. I finally figured out tonight that Vickie was leaving us for a while. My Vickie is going away. She has never gone away before, not without me and it is very clear that this time......I don't get to go.

It started hitting home when she asked me if I would like to ask another dog to be a guest writer on my blog this week. A guest writer. Now why would I need a guest writer. Haven't I been doing a good job? Aren't you all just thrilled with what I have to say? Why would I need to invite another dog to guest write.

Now I see that it is a really cool idea. Besides the fact that Vickie is going a way for a few days, and I won't be able to tell her what to write on my blog, well, it is just a cool idea because now I can introduce you guys to a neat guy I have been reading about for a while.

His name is Oak.....He lives in Canada. Now I don't know what that means, but Vickie says that we might be going to New York this summer and maybe we can go up into Canada just to see what it is like when we are there.

So everyone.....Meet Oak......He is handsome and charming and a golden retriever just like me and I know you will just love him. I'll be thinking of a lot of things to tell you when Vickie gets back so for now, enjoy meeting my pen pal friend.....OAK......

Hi Everyone
My name is Oak and I am so excited to be a guest writer on Bert’s blog! Maybe if I do a good job Mommy will make me my very own blog, instead of just writing about me on hers. J Bert asked me to tell you all a bit about myself and my crazy, busy life.
Where to start….

How about my favorite things:

My Mommy: I don’t like to go places without my Mommy or when I have to stay home by myself. Mommy always says: “You be a good boy Oakie, I’ll be right back” I lay down by the door and go to sleep and by the time I wake up, Mommy’s back! Yeah!

My Toys: I love my toys, stuffies are the best, but I always tear them to pieces and take all the fluff out and then they are goneL
In the summer, Mommy got me a floaty toy so I would jump off the dock and go fetch it, but I still like sticks better. Mommy thinks sticks are better too, cause she had to go in the pond and get my toy a few times when I wouldn’t bring it back!

I have this really cool, yellow ball with feet that I got from Komo & Kyan (Mommy owns a pet sitting business and she walks them every day) for Christmas. We always go to the tennis courts and Mommy throws it way far to the other side and I get to run and run and run to try and catch it. I don’t always bring it back though
I just got a new toy on Friday, it has a rope on one end attached to like a long, skinny tennis ball (at least it tastes like a tennis ball). It’s fun too. I can chew on it and throw it around myself.
I like my kong too. Mommy fills it with peanut butter and cheerios… Yummy!
Sometimes Mommy says I have too many toys, she’s just kidding though, right?

Going on walks: I love going on walks! Sometimes we walk with friends down the sidewalk.
And sometimes we go to the park and I get to run around and race with my friends! That’s the best!
Treats: I like bones, liver, chicken, cheerios, just about anything. FOOOOD! I LOVE FOOOOD! What else can I say
Swimming: I just learnt how to swim this summer. It took about a month for Mommy to convince me that swimming is fun and now I want to do it all the time!
Unfortunately, we have this thing called winter here in Ontario. It means the river I swim in turns to ice and I don’t get to swim again until summer L No fair!
There is one good thing about winter…
SNOW!!!! Snow is really fun! I can run in it, roll in it, eat it! What’s not to love? Although this year, we hardly got any
I love the kids! When Mommy’s grandkids come to visit we have FUN, FUN, FUN!!! This is Tyler, he plays ball with me, chase and he lets me be his seatbelt in the van!
And then there is Aurora, she likes to dance in the living room and I always try to help herJ I’m such a good boy. She likes to come to the dog park with us too and doesn’t mind when I steal her hat…
and she always gives me big hugs!
I love my cottage, I love car rides, I love playing with my buddy Lite, I love meeting new people (new dogs are kinda scary though), I love being attacked by Jewels when she can’t get the dog she sees down the street (It’s really fun, I jump and run and she tries to get me, but she can’t cause she’s on a leash), I love being brushed, I love sneaking up on the couch for a quick nap (shh don’t tell Daddy, I’m not allowed on the couch)
and most of all, I loved being asked to be a guest writer for Bert’s blog!
Thanks Bert
