She was pretty upset when two more dogs were left abandoned at our place. I wont' bore you with her words, her tears, or her frustration at the humans who decided they wouldn't be responsible for their dogs one more day.
So in order to keep them from being put to sleep or putting them into a strange environment with no love or attention she gave in and said, yes she would take them.
Little did she know that the dogs had not been vaccinated in years, no heartworm, and not neutered.
OK off the attitude, lets meet our new loves.
I have to say, even I was shocked at the handsomeness of this guy. Of course I am darn good lookin but this guy.....look at that beautiful coat. The shiney red and rusty colors. Oh my.
I mean yes, this poor boy has had some problems in his life, like he has one eye that has the curled in eyelid and so he has been in chronic pain for six years.
But my Doctor fixed the eye and neutered him and checked him for heartworm and gave him all his shots today so in a little bit of time, after the eye has healed and the (well you know) those other things are healed, he is going to be such a happy dog.
This is his little sis. She lookes even rougher but oh what a heart of gold. She needs to loose some weight, well a lot of weight and she goes into the doctor on Friday cause we wanna make sure she is ok before we try and find her a home too.
This little girl is the one I told you about in the last post that isn't housetrained but after three months, she finally used the doggy door yesterday. YEAH.....we are all so happy. Now maybe she will go outside when she wants to piddle.
Of course Little Willa was homeless but she is for sure got a home now.....WITH US.
Scrappy and Abby were both found wandering the streets a few years ago and after working with them, we tried to find them a home, but they ended up having some issues that made them really hard to adopt out so they have a home with us too. And I couldn't be happier. Especially Scrappy. Him and me are best pals and he is the only dog I do this too:
Just so you know, My Vickie is in a much better mood now and she is very very glad we are taking care of these guys. It may take a while to find the right home, but they are such sweethearts....so they can stay as long as they need to.
I on the other hand am a little worried that I am being put on the side burner with her taking care of all these strays, so if any of you (Who live in or around Utah) know of someone who would take really good care of these two PLEASE send her and email. jamiesyra@msn.com
Thanks so much
Bert

You do many a good deed there and you obviously have a heart of gold! I hope those dogs feel better real soon!
I've been thinking about these 2 since you mentioned them in the e-mail...You know I would take them if I lived on your side of the Mississippi....But I'm so thankful that you're there for them, and will help them find the perfect forever home!!!!
Bless you all mates!

Oh gosh, this makes me SO UPSET. Thank goodness your Vicky was there to help them. How can people do this!!! I was abandoned 10 years ago so I know sad and scared these babies must have been. Bless your mom for helping them.
Your pal, Pip
Your Vicky has a wonderful heart that's in the right place! I hope they find a home soon, hopefully together if they're packmates.

Did your Vickie have to have any special training for what she is doing now?
Bert, Your Vickie has a big heart and so do you! I know those dogs are so grateful.
Wyatt and Stanzie
Oh my gosh that video of you jumping so so funny! I love it!! And thank you for opening up your home for these abandoned dogs. You have a big heart :)
That video was so funny! We (Jeter & I) watched it twice. Jeter was fascinated! That is quite a pack you have. Beautiful dogs, you have such a generous kind heart.
Hope the perfect forever homes can be found & the eye heals. Thanks for the doggie dental tips! Will be utilizing them! Bless you and all your dogs & anyone who helps a dog in need.
Y'all have hearts of gold :) Bert, never seen such a bounce! If any buggies were under your paws, they are definitely flat buggies now ;)
Doin the happy dance for the doggies you've taken in :D
Waggin at ya,
Roo
What a kind hearted person Your Vickie is. Bless her (and you, for welcoming these poor homeless furries into your home).
I just don't understand people who abandon their pets after a couple of years with ridiculous excuses. What sort of a person is that?
Scrappy doesn't seem to be that impressed with your dancing behind him, Bert. What a shame!
Your Vickie is an angel!
Love ya lots
Maggie and Mitch
I hope that these beautiful dogs find good, safe homes soon. Boy, do they deserve it!
OK Bert, what is up with the bouncing? As a friend, I will tell you that it makes you look like a fool. But you do what you want...
I am glad that your Vickie helped out those orphan dogs. They will find forever homes, I am certain.
Slobbers,
Mango
Sigh - this upsets my Mom too - how can people just suddenly decide to stop loving or caring about a dog they have had for years? We know sometimes their are special reasons - like the elderly who just can not cope anymore but in general there is just no good reason. Maybe people should be made to test before they get a furbaby or sign a contract!!! Thank you to your Miss Vickie for taking them in and looking after them - we have all our paws crossed that you can find them wonderful loving homes.
Oh they are adorable..and Bert, what in da world are you doin' in dat video????? BOL
Dear Bert,
Your Vikie has the biggest heart in the world. Me loved your bark/dance that was cool! And all those other dogs at your house...wow!
Kisses
Nellie
Oh Bert, that makes us so sad to see those two beautiful pups so neglected. Your Mom is a saint, the wonderful heart she has is amazing. We hope that someone will step forward and help find them a good home.
That video is a riot - that's some interesting dance step you have there:)
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning
Oh those poor dears - at least the people cared enough to leave them somewhere they will be taken care of. It's still wrong...
Sam
Bertie boy, you just single-pawedly sent Ohno and Kudzu into a barking rage!!! BOL!!!
They sure are gorgeous goldens and how anyone could abandon them is beyond us!
Your Vickie must be part Golden too - she sure has a heart of gold taking all those guys in.
AROOOOF!
Boondocks & The Love Shack Pack
It is a shame how much people just don't care. My mom does the Relinquishment for Weimaraner Rescue in OH, KY, IN and WV and oh the excuses she hears....it is so sad. Glad the eye is fixed that looked awful painful. Bless your mom for taking good care of them.
Oh Bert your Vicky must have a heart of gold. We understand how frustrated she might be by those stupid humans abandoning their pups but atleast your Vicky will find great homes for them!
Slobbers,
The CheeseHounds
Bert, Your Vickie must be a very special person. (And the video with Scrappy made us lol.)
the 2 brown dawgs
Bert,
You sure can bounce! Your new furiends are so beootiful! It makes me so sad and very angry when peoples treat pets like trash and just throw dem away. Thank goodness dey have all of you to take care of dem.
Woofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae
Bert, if my mom lived close by your mom, she would be in jail for sure. She gets really upset at the jerks that just decide to go their own happy way and leave animals. They are gorgeous and we are SO happy that Your Vickie is very kind and has a heart of gold! Loved the video...that made my mom laugh so much...you are very handsome and jumping like that is showing great talent!!! Lots of love, Holly & Mom
Bless you and your mom. That's all we can say right now cause we're leaking a little.
Bert I venture to say, "Your place in Ms. Vickie's heart" is safe. A heart like that in endless.
Tell her if I was closer, I'd be there helping out. :)
Jules @ Trying To Get Over The Rainbow
Your Vickie is a patron saint of dogs. I thank her from the bottom of my heart. I can understand how angry she gets at some people but she is so full of love for dogs that she saves many dogs.
I don't know how you do what you do... My heart breaks for those pups!
Thanks for using the time and effort to write something so interesting.

I'm not necessarily a religious fellow, but what's the old saying? Something like, "God doesn't give us more than we can handle." The Universe has led these two beautiful dogs to you because you'll be able to take better care of them than their former human companions and you're trusted enough to find them good homes. They're not challenges for you, you're salvation to them. The Universe knows what it's doing. I'm sure of it.
