My Vickie does a Post

Bert is out with his best Human Friend taking a walk and swim (I assume) down by the river, so I thought it was time you all heard from me.  My Vickie.

Not a lot to tell, just wanted to share a few pictures from a trip to the mountains I took with my mom yesterday.  It was to an area that dogs are not allowed so Bert was left at home.  (Not very happy about that)

It was incredibly beautiful.  A place called Albion Basin in the Mountains above Salt Lake City, Utah

This was an area we used to train the search dogs in until they even banned the search dogs from the area....that is unless they need us to search for lost hikers.

I had forgottone how beautiful it was.  There are so many wildflowers here and I love the fact that they are intermixed like I have never seen before.

I hope you enjoy.  So late in the season, yet still so unbelievable.

next to the Columbine, the picture above is one of the most exciting to find in the wild.  We call it "Elephant Head"  duhhhh  I can't remember the nature name but if you look you will see that each flower on the stem looks just like an elephants head. (Sorry it isn't sharper but I was lying in the middle of the creek to get the picture) You can find these in the moist moist high alpine terrain, usually along a creek bed or marshy area.  Often much bigger than this but still a great sight to me.

Check out the variety of different flowers in one area and there were miles of this site.

Hope you liked my photo trip from MOnday.  Hopefully Bert will have so much fun with his buddy Austin that he will forgive me for writing on his blog.

Gosh, I almost don't have any words for all the prettiness in this postie. The only thing that would make it more better is a handsome search and rescue doggie running around in all those flowers. I'm sorry they don't let doggies in anymore but it's still a Most Magical place.

Hi "My Vickie"!

Loved your pictures. My Human won't lay down like that to get fab wildflower pics against the sky.

It's a shame dogs can't go there. What a great place to run!

Y'all come by now,

It really amazes me how flowers can be so pretty in the wild and the only thing that grows wild here are the weeds. And what a bummer. I'm sure Bert would have loved running through the flowers!

Absolutely breath-taking. Your photography is so crisp, we could almost smell the flowers.

We've said it before, but it's worth repeating - Utah must be pretty close to Heaven.
