Monday and Tuesday Roundup

The week has started out pretty good here in "Bert Ville"  Murphy and I got to spend some time with some kids in an after school program.  They were learning about detectives.  We got to show them how some "Dog Detectives" do their job.  Then we all went outside and played.  Oh kids are the best.
Then My Vickie and Goose's Mom, Michelle, went up to see if they could see some moose.  I think they did a good job.  These Moose were playing hide and seek from them.  Gosh, that is how we train to be search dogs.   Maybe they could be search Moose.

And of course we had a beautiful sunset here in "BertVille"
Tuesday was More Kids.  This is one of my Vickie's favorite demos.  WE get to go up in the mountains and spend part of the day at a camp for kids.  These are special children who are learning to live with the big C.  I was thinking that we should have got K to come with us. She could be such an example to these little sweet children.
Life is full of ups and downs, but through it all Love seems to be the anchor.  And there was so much love up there.
Allred was in a particularly pugnacious mood today.  But even with that he wanted me to send this note to Sankissjuice.
"I for sure would like to see some pictures of your kitties.  I am always open to meeting new babes...."  Here is my personal email address, just for you..... jamiesyra@msn.com

And finally, I just want everyone to start getting ready to send in their entries for the "Pole Jumping" competition which I am sponsoring at the Blogville Olympics 2012
Any critter, dog, cat and horse for sure, should send in their photos of them jumping.
Clear a fence post, an agility course
a big old dead tree.
Now we don't want pictures of you jumping in the air.  That is a different competition.  But leaping over.
And while your getting your pictures, don't do like I do and close your eyes when you jump.  Sometimes the landing can be a little tough if your eyes aren't open.

I'll be posting the entry dates around the first week of July so get practicing......

Have fun everyone.
Love
Bert

Burt, You have a fun life. Also, I have a feeling if you are nice to Allered, he will eventually be nice to you. I'm sure that he is just afraid, so he shows it by being scary.

Search moose!! Best idea EVER!!

I don't do a lot of jumping, but I'm going to try to practice for your competition. I want to enter as many events as I can!

Oh I have got the jumping thing down. I don't even close my eyes. Do you get extra points for keeping the peepers open?
Blessings,

hey Bert,

The classroom of kids are adorable! I bet you had a great time with them. And the big C kids sound like sweeties. It is so heartwarming to hear they have a special camp where they can have fun with each other, and that it is so full of love. How wonderful of you to spend time with them and share your love.

Your closed-eye jump is impressive! Sadly, I am not a jumper so I will have to find another event to enter.

I like that you live in Bert Ville. I think I'll live in Tank Ville from now on.

I can't recall ever "leaping" over anything in my life, but I'm sure you'll get lots of great entries.

It's very cool that you get to go to places like schools and camps for the kids. We are sure the kids just love it.

Pole Jumping! Sounds tough. Good luck, everyone.

Allred... sooo creepy. What's that thing he's hugging? Is that catnip scented?

Awesome thing you're doing Bert. I think the kids appreciate it so much.

I won't be able to participate in the pole jumping...my legs are too short! Heehee. When I joined in an obstacle course once, the organizer had to move the tyres to let me pass because I just couldn't get over them...BOL.
Good luck to everyone else, though!

Woof to you Bert!!!! You're the ultimate canine Colombo/KP Kojack! You and your Vickie are so good to spend so much time giving back to others in need. And I love your quote about love being the anchor....

From the looks of the photos you posted, it looks like the pressure is truly on in terms of your pole vaulting competition. My assistant and I better get started on photos of me jumping asap.

Much love to you - XXOO - Mazzie

Ha woo. I like those mooses (meece?) playing peek a boo with your Vickie! And search mooses? Brilliant, Bert. Brilliant!
You have such an important job! I'll bet those kids will never forget you!!!
Jumping. I'm not allowed to jump any more. Zimmie jumps, but it's usually during zoomies, so mom doesn't have pix of that. That pup's got springs in his legs!

Hmmm...some of those critters look kinda scary! But the jumping looks like fun. Being a weenie dog, I'm not supposed to jump like that! Bummer!

Hi Bert, I love the pic of you with the kids and Murphy. What good role models you both are. I think your idea to have K go to the camp was a good one. I hope your momma had a very long lens on her camera for the Moose photo, otherwise she was just to close. Thanks for the great photos. I don't think Hunter is great at jumping yet but I think I might have to check.

I wish that sweet K could have gone with you to that camp. When she was diagnosed, I looked into getting her certified as a therapy dog so that she could do stuff like that for kids living with cancer. Then, I let a very pessimistic vet talk me out of it. She said that K wouldn't be alive for long enough to make the training worth it. I am kicking myself.

Hi Allred, Bert and Vickie,

You've got mail! (wink)

Your fan always.

PS That moose looks like it is smiling at the camera. It must have learnt to pose like this from Bert :)

You really make all this look so easy and I can tell you're having fun too, which is what it's all about!

I hope your week is ending on a good note!! :-)

Bert, you're awesome! We wrote a children's book published by the American Cancer Society that might be right up your alley. Shoot me an email if you'd like me to send you a personalized copy (lcrissmays@seebeautiful.com). Maybe you could share it with the camp?

I'll have to talk to Lilly and Buddy about pole jumping. Your pictures make me smile - and see beautiful - of course.

Happy seeing beautiful!
