si·ne qua non

si·ne qua non
OK, so I don't know what it means, but it got you here, didn't it.
Wanna see where I went last night, what I saw and what I got to do?

My Vickie loves the perks of her job.  Like, sometimes when people leave their dogs with us, they might ask her to go to their house and water plants or take in the paper.  Well, really only one family does that, and the cool thing is that they live way up in the mountains.  So last night after all of our guests were settled in we got in the old van and headed up the mountain, and much to our delight we saw this little gal.  IF you look close on her chest you will see a white line along her  chest.  In some of the other pictures My Vickie took you could see that it is a huge gash that runs along the whole length of the front of her body with a huge open wound in the center just under her neck.
My Vickie said that it looked like it was healing nicely and that I should not worry about her too much cause she thinks she will be ok, but it is a wonder as to what happened.
When we got to the families home/cabin the area was covered with this beautiful little yellow flower.  My Vickie was so excited cause she remembers them from when she was a little girl.  She said they called them Buttercups.  We looked it up and this is what we found on the internet about them.
THE MEANING & SYMBOLISM OF
ranunculus

Native to Asia and celebrated for its medicinal properties as

well as its bright beauty, the small camellia-like ranunculus

ranges from white to pink, red to yellow to orange. Also known

as Buttercup and Coyote’s Eyes, legend has it that the

mythological Coyote was tossing his eyes up in the air and

catching them when Eagle snatched them. Unable to see,

Coyote created eyes from the buttercup.

In the language of flowers, a bouquet of ranunculus says,

“I am dazzled by your charms.

And you know what was even more cool than these cute little flowers?  Right smack in the middle of them was a muddy creek.  Yep, you heard me....MUD....Anybody wanna kiss.
After we watered the plants, fed the kitty and made sure all was well in the house, we took a hike outside to enjoy the evening sounds of birds in the trees and gentle breezes that bent the grasses toward the setting sun.

BOL BOL -- Bert buddy, you look like one of those starlets who has overdone the lip Botox. I don't even think Charlotte would want to kiss those lips!! You crack me up. Tell your Vickie I loved the pictures and especially the poor moose. I bet she ran into a fence. I'd like to lick her wound and make it better (but don't think she'd want you to do that with those lips! BOL)

And why was I not invited to that cool place. I got to go last time. I swear it was not me who peed on the plants outside.
So it looks like my MOM is abandoning me and leaving me at your place. I love being at your place but I wish I could go with my MOM to CO. Anyway, I heard you had hot dogs yesterday for breakfast. Will I be having hot dogs too? I like hot dogs a lot. Maybe it will ease my pain.
Blessings,
Goose

Excellent running shot Bert and the little moose is just adorable.

We have buttercups here in the UK and little people (children) pick them and hold them under their chins. If the buttercup makes their chins glow it is said that you love butter.

Don't think our chins would glow somehow ;-)

Oh, that sweet Moose. I do hope she's okay. Good to have expert opinion that things are looking good. Bert, you're face is hysterical. It looks like you licked all the icing off a cupcake - a muddy cupcake. ;)

Happy seeing beautiful!

Sounds like a perfect end to a great day. What a wonderful mom you have Bert; how helpful this would be for folks away. I know if you lived near me, I'd be wanting to go with you all.
I heard Goose is coming to stay, know you'll have a great time.

Woof to you Bert!!!! I'm so glad that the moose appears to be doing OK despite her injuries. My assistant and I can't bear to see any 4 legged creature suffer.

And how handsome you look surrounded by all of those buttercups. You must have some karma Bert .... that's the only explanation for why you somehow always (and magically) find a way, wherever you may be, to muddy yourself up!

My assistant said she'd love to plant a big kiss smack dab in the middle of you muddy nose and lips!

Much love to you and your Vickie - XXOO - Mazzie

You know my love - I wanna be kissed by you - but I would prefer the non-muddy-version...Love your charlotte

Howdy Bert, we wondered if the little moose had walked into a sharp fence of some kind and it cut her chest/neck? Stella would love a kiss but not with the mud and only on the cheek cause we know you love your Charlotte, hehehe. What beautiful photos too! thanks for sharing. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
