Good Luck Mid West

We want to start out by wishing all of you
in the Mid West who are being hit
by the ice storms that just left us.
You are in for a rough go of it and you will
be in our prayers.

We are just barely getting out from under the dangerous
conditions where everything  you do outside
is like walking on an ice rink.

Allred had enough of the cold and transported
out for a quick visit to his girl Nellie
They had a wonderful time in the warm weather.

Back here, even though it is
cold, icy and foggy.  We are still
"Seeing Beautiful"
We caught this moment of sweetness when
Scrappy fell asleep on Gooses back.
Tender Tender
We have a fun new pup coming
for Day Care, You gotta love
those Black Lab puppies.
Mugzie sent us a picture from
one of his hikes.  You might remember
that he was a guest of ours for several
months while we searched for the perfect
home.  As you can see, the perfect home
came along and life is good
I finally got my walk.  We had to find
a trail that no one had been on because
it is so slick that you can't walk on trails,
you have to forge your own way.
Ah I live in an incredible place
Check out my view.
My Vickie wanted to show you this ice
layer.  She took her camera and put it down
inside one of her footprints after she
crunched through the snow/ice.
Each step for her was painful because
the ice would slice her legs with each
step as her foot broke through the snow.
This is a sheet layer of the surface of the snow.

My paws were cut up a bit
too so our walk was cut short
I could have stayed out forever, but
I guess it wasn't too smart

So be careful all my friends on the east coast
and the Midwest as this nasty but beautiful
storm comes your way.  Stay safe
and stay home if you can.

We had many many accidents and several
deaths from this storm.  We just want you all
to be safe.  Oh, and on the cool side

IT IS SNOWING AGAIN AND
I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT

Love
Bert

That ice was exciting! We didn't get it at the house, but Mom said at the U. it was treacherous - she walks from the hospital down to her gym classes and she had to completely avoid the sidewalks because they were sheer ice! Of course, now we've just gotten 10 inches of snow, and Mom is wondering if she's going to be able to make it down the driveway tomorrow! Hopefully this snow will cover the ice enough that your paws won't get sore torn up! Have a good week!

That looks really tough. I don't think of us as being that far from you.... but we dodged it. Be careful out there, and wear boots, Bert!

We are having freaky scary weather. 50°, sunny, snow melting, in JANUARY. It's scaring me about the fire danger this summer if things don't change.

We're sending you 70 degree thoughts and purrs from Oklahoma! Your ice is beautiful but we are glad it is moving away now. Have a warm Monday. XOXO

Yup it's coming this way starting early in the morning. I'm glad I don't work so I don't have to be out in it. You do look very handsome standing on the bridge.

I think you should come to sunny San Francisco where the worst that can happen is a giant earthquake and we'll all fall off into the Pacific Oce..... Oh, wait. What? Nah, that will never happen! Right?

P.S. Youse guys keep ending up in my Spammy-Spam-Spam folder even though I KEEP telling Blogger you are NOT Spam!!

Oh that ice is never fun! Yesterday we had 'ice fog'. Ice fog? What the heck? It's much safer to stay inside. Hopefully Mother Nature starts taking it a little easier on us!

Those are some mighty fine pictures Bert! We love the group picture as you and all your furends are so beautiful. Hope that Miss Vickie didn't need too many bandaid's and that your paws will be OK.

Sorry that everyone is having such destructive weather. We hate to hear all about the problems that go with it.

Stay safe!

Hugs,

Gorgeous photos. Ice is far more dangerous than snow.Growing up in the Midwest I remember how awful ice storms are and how beautiful too as all of nature looks sculpted out of crystal. However I hope the storm doesn't give us an ice storm here in Virginia.

That's some serious ice! By the time it got here, it was too warm, so it was just good old rain. So, no worries for us for a few days!

OH BERT... I see that Goose measured the NEW snow.. 11 MORE inches... on top of the Old snow and the ICEY layer. Hopefully that will actually make walking a bit EASIER.

PLEASE stay safe.

Holy crap. That's some fierce ice. I'm jealous anyway. We're a little too far south to get that glorious storm. :(

LOVE the tail shot in that second (?) to last photo!

We didn't get any snow here in Kentucky. Well, we did, but it was gone before we could go and make it yellow.

That ice is pretty to look at, but definitely a huge pain in the butt. We are not fond of ice.

The pictures are gorgeous. Your mom makes us see the blessings in the little things in life. Thanks

We are so glad the ice left us (sort of) and the inversion is gone (even though Channel 2 said it would set up at the end of the week again). Mom says pray for spring!

Yikes you sure got the ice. Ice can be nasty on paws. Luckily we did not get a lot of ice because it warmed up enough to rain. And it sure did rain. Now we are worried about flooding!
