We want to start out by wishing all of you
in the Mid West who are being hit
by the ice storms that just left us.
You are in for a rough go of it and you will
be in our prayers.
We are just barely getting out from under the dangerous
conditions where everything you do outside
is like walking on an ice rink.
Allred had enough of the cold and transported
out for a quick visit to his girl Nellie
They had a wonderful time in the warm weather.
Back here, even though it is
cold, icy and foggy. We are still
"Seeing Beautiful"
We caught this moment of sweetness when
Tender Tender
We have a fun new pup coming
for Day Care, You gotta love
those Black Lab puppies.
Mugzie sent us a picture from
one of his hikes. You might remember
that he was a guest of ours for several
months while we searched for the perfect
home. As you can see, the perfect home
came along and life is good
I finally got my walk. We had to find
a trail that no one had been on because
it is so slick that you can't walk on trails,
you have to forge your own way.
Ah I live in an incredible place
Check out my view.
My Vickie wanted to show you this ice
layer. She took her camera and put it down
inside one of her footprints after she
crunched through the snow/ice.
Each step for her was painful because
the ice would slice her legs with each
step as her foot broke through the snow.
This is a sheet layer of the surface of the snow.
My paws were cut up a bit
too so our walk was cut short
I could have stayed out forever, but
I guess it wasn't too smart
So be careful all my friends on the east coast
and the Midwest as this nasty but beautiful
storm comes your way. Stay safe
and stay home if you can.
We had many many accidents and several
deaths from this storm. We just want you all
to be safe. Oh, and on the cool side
IT IS SNOWING AGAIN AND
I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT
Love
Bert

Oh yea its snowing. MOM measured the new snow and we got almost 11 inches! Crazy. I'm about to go out and help her shovel it. Well as much help as I can be. I didn't know your Vickie got cut up. Hope you both are OK. See ya tomorrow buddy.
Blessings,
Goose
Woof! Woof! Oh Bert ... did you say Midwest! Oh! Oh! Oh! You'll find out soon. Stay Safe. Lots of Golden woofs, Sugar
That ice was exciting! We didn't get it at the house, but Mom said at the U. it was treacherous - she walks from the hospital down to her gym classes and she had to completely avoid the sidewalks because they were sheer ice! Of course, now we've just gotten 10 inches of snow, and Mom is wondering if she's going to be able to make it down the driveway tomorrow! Hopefully this snow will cover the ice enough that your paws won't get sore torn up! Have a good week!

Oh my! Adorable pictures. That ice sure can be scary
Benny & Lily
That looks really tough. I don't think of us as being that far from you.... but we dodged it. Be careful out there, and wear boots, Bert!
We are having freaky scary weather. 50°, sunny, snow melting, in JANUARY. It's scaring me about the fire danger this summer if things don't change.
We're sending you 70 degree thoughts and purrs from Oklahoma! Your ice is beautiful but we are glad it is moving away now. Have a warm Monday. XOXO
Yup it's coming this way starting early in the morning. I'm glad I don't work so I don't have to be out in it. You do look very handsome standing on the bridge.
Millie
I think you should come to sunny San Francisco where the worst that can happen is a giant earthquake and we'll all fall off into the Pacific Oce..... Oh, wait. What? Nah, that will never happen! Right?
P.S. Youse guys keep ending up in my Spammy-Spam-Spam folder even though I KEEP telling Blogger you are NOT Spam!!
Brrr... That looks very cold!
Glad you guys are safe. I really enjoyed all the beautiful, snowy pictures. That is as close to snow as I have been. Sending warm thoughts.
Kelsey
We're getting snow now (3:15am Monday - night shift)and then it's to change to freezing rain and then get warm with regular rain. Good daytime sleeping weather! Take care of those paws Bert!
In times like these, we are thankful for our hot and rainy weather. We hope everyone stays safe from the ice storms!
The flip side of beautiful snow. The dangerous side. We're so happy you got out.
Stay warm.
XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
We hope everyone stays save with the storms. Lovely photo's and that new pup is sure gonna have fun :) xx00xx

You look so elegant posing on that bridge, Bert!
We hd some more snow on Saturday morning but it was all gone by Saturday night. Today, it's sunny and warm. Love that too!
Woofs,
Tommy
Oh that ice is never fun! Yesterday we had 'ice fog'. Ice fog? What the heck? It's much safer to stay inside. Hopefully Mother Nature starts taking it a little easier on us!
xo Catherine
Those are some mighty fine pictures Bert! We love the group picture as you and all your furends are so beautiful. Hope that Miss Vickie didn't need too many bandaid's and that your paws will be OK.
Sorry that everyone is having such destructive weather. We hate to hear all about the problems that go with it.
Stay safe!
Hugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin
Gorgeous photos. Ice is far more dangerous than snow.Growing up in the Midwest I remember how awful ice storms are and how beautiful too as all of nature looks sculpted out of crystal. However I hope the storm doesn't give us an ice storm here in Virginia.
Wow, beautiful pictures! Y'all stay safe and warm!
~Higgins
That's some serious ice! By the time it got here, it was too warm, so it was just good old rain. So, no worries for us for a few days!
Bunny
I cross my paws for all in the midwest. I can see it on your "tailmometer" how cold it is at your place. Please stay warm and good luck for "Allred in Love"
OH BERT... I see that Goose measured the NEW snow.. 11 MORE inches... on top of the Old snow and the ICEY layer. Hopefully that will actually make walking a bit EASIER.
PLEASE stay safe.
glad that you got out and about Bert! stay safe and avoid the ice on the water, wouldn't want you to go for a swim!
Love your new header photo - the snow is indeed beautiful and fun to play in - but I can't say we wish it that much.
Oh, Bert! I's shivering! If ya get too cold come to my house. We're supposed to hit 80 this afternoon!
OMD, how long do it be until summer comes? Yesterday mom told me not to go out on the ice in the creek but did I lissen? No. I stepped out and CRUNCH, I went in the ice cold water! I got myself out coz it was not deep then had to lissen to mom day "Told ya so..."
So sorry about your paws! That looks so so so beautiful.
Nora
The snow has started here on the East coast!
Wow, Bert! That's a lot of snow and ice! I'm all in favor of the snow ... but yeowzas, that ice is nasty business! Stay safe, buddy - and I hope your feety-feet and your Vickie's legs are OK!!!
Play bows,
Zim
We hope you stay Safe under those icy conditions!
These pictures are really adorable! I liked this post a lot.

Holy crap. That's some fierce ice. I'm jealous anyway. We're a little too far south to get that glorious storm. :(
LOVE the tail shot in that second (?) to last photo!
We didn't get any snow here in Kentucky. Well, we did, but it was gone before we could go and make it yellow.
That ice is pretty to look at, but definitely a huge pain in the butt. We are not fond of ice.
The pictures are gorgeous. Your mom makes us see the blessings in the little things in life. Thanks
Shelle, Milo, Dixie and Newby,

Wow - that looks treacherous but also so beautiful and fun!
How brave and noble of you and Your Vickie to go to all that effort! You are the happiest dog we know Bert. Nothing fazes you. Love ya! X
P.S. I LOVE your new banner shot :D
Love your header photo, Bert! It's fabulous!
We got our snow and now it's beginning to rain. We're buckling our chinstraps! Thank you for the warning!
Love ya lots,
Mitch and Molly
We are so glad the ice left us (sort of) and the inversion is gone (even though Channel 2 said it would set up at the end of the week again). Mom says pray for spring!
Keep Calm & Bark On!

Dear Bert
Even though we lives north o yous, we has had rain and ice in top of snow. They is saying wes is going to has really bad avalanches this year up in the mountains!
The hairy slobbery sisters has not been out on the trail along the river for a month now.
Please lets Allred knows me had the bestest time! Me thinks it was the WARMEST me has been since winter started!
Kisses
Nellie
We think you live in a VERY beautiful place but we do not envy your snow and ice! Glad you all hunkered in until it was safer to go on adventures but still looks like you could use snow shoes.
Bert, you only add to the magical beauty of your place.
Be careful on that ice!
Wyatt and Stanzie
Bert!!! These pictures are absolutely AWESOME!!! You live in a magical place and your Vickie took some really special pics of you!! Hope your paws are feeling better...be safe out there!! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug
We do love where you live Bert, we have always wanted to move across the pond! That is some thicks ice though, I don't think we have as bigger fur coats are you do :)
Slobbers
PeeS we LOVES your new banner photo <3
Your seven dogs in the snow photo is adorable and quite worthy of framing. Great job.
Yikes you sure got the ice. Ice can be nasty on paws. Luckily we did not get a lot of ice because it warmed up enough to rain. And it sure did rain. Now we are worried about flooding!
Stay safe and warm in all that ice and snow, Bert! I hope your paws are okay too :) And your Vickie's legs too!
