And this is how it went

Fourth of July at our house.    Hot HOT HOT.  The sun was so bright that I had to pull out my goggles.
Allred was in a particularly bad mood.  (Surprise)
Most of us just stayed inside and slept through the day.
All the swamp coolers were running at high.
Poor Jamie likes the cool tile floor in this kind of weather
Sweety took over possession of the bed
Ty stretched out on the floor too.
Willa could be found snoozing in about seven different places.
Nala used my tail as a pillow
Tuesday I got two special packages that we waited until today to open.
We were so excited when we opened the first one which was a book from the wonderful Lydia of See Beautiful  Oh what a beautiful little book about two young girls, one with cancer, the other with a huge heart.
And our next package was from my buddy Snoopy who had a contest a few weeks ago that we won a prize for.  Yep, me and My Vickie won a prize.  We were so excited.  They sent us this really cool T-Shirt and even though I don't get to wear it, I get to see how happy it makes My Vickie feel when she wears it.
After all that excitement, we all went back to sleep as we wait for the sun to go down and things to cool off.  WE hope you all had a great 4th of July.  Now My Vickie explained to me that not all of you will be celebrating this day as a unique day, unless you live in America.  To the rest of you, it is just a regular day.  But we hope you all have a great day too.

hey Bert,

I love all the photos of all the pups that visit your house. They are all so beautiful and look like such a fun bunch. I know I could be friends with all of them. And the last photo of you snoozing is very sweet!

It was super hot here today, too, so I feel your pain. Paws crossed you get some cool relief soon.

Congratulations on your pawsome gifts! The book looks wonderful and the t-shirt is pawsome! Love it!

Hope you and yours had a wonderful happy Independence Day!

Yea buddy is it HOT! That book is wonderful. Even though it was so hot today I went on a little unplanned adventure and met new critters I have never seen before. I hope I get to take you there, there's water!!!! I just love that Nala, she is so cool and pretty and big. If it rains tomorrow (yea like that will happen) I will see you if no rain then I have to go help MOM so I won't.

I hope you guys are staying cool - Dave and I like our tile floors, too -- and the air conditioning vents!
I hope you stay safe - we know about the fires in your area and how dry everything is! We're in a "severe drought", so you'd think people would exercise some common sense. Apparently that's too much to ask for and now some innocent people who weren't even home have lost their house. Bipeds!

Woof to you Bert!!!! How beyond talented are you to be able to get the mail for you and your Vickie? I wish we had a mailbox like yours .... ours is in our building lobby and can only be opened with a key, which means yours truly can't get the mail because I don't have any thumbs. Oh well. Much love to you and your Vickie - XXOO - Mazzie

Your day looks just like ours was--Just a few different faces! Inside is the best and that's where we are ALL going to stay! :-)

Lydia Criss Mays said...

Oh, Bert, we're so excited you like the book. You certainly made us see beautiful and we were so happy to share it with you!

Curt Rogers said...

It's been hot here, too. Fortunately it's started to cool down.

But I would think Allred was behind it, Bert. If he truly is the Devil I'd think he be more relaxed and happier in the heat.

Maybe this disproves your theory? :)

Your 4th looked a lot like ours, (except no prezzies). It was hotter than blazes here.

Shelle Pennington said...

Your 4th looked a whole lot like ours! It was 103F here and all we did was sleep. I mean we went straight out, did our business then came in to nap again. That is totally not fun.

Hope your weather is cooler so you can enjoy the outside again!
