Wiped Out...Done In.....Pooped Out

Well, it is Saturday and after My Vickie and I took care of the other critters here at Canine Country Club, we met up with my buddy Goose from Gospel of Goose and took him to my favorite swimmin hole.
Now Goose isn't much for water and I figured cause it is so cold now, he would probably like it even less today, but it was my goal to show him that Water is Good.
To get to my swimmin hole you get to play in some fields and walk along a real pretty little lake so we let out a little of our energy doing that while My Vickie and Gooses human Michelle, visited and walked along the path.
First think I did when we got to the swimmin hole was show Goose that there was nothing to worry about by jumping right in to the deepest part of it.  He was tempted enough that he got his feet wet.
Then before you know it, he was joinin in the fun.  Now he never actually got out where the water was deep but he did enjoy getting wet up to his belly.

I would go and get the sticks our humans threw out for us, then me and Goose would carry that heavy old stick back to shore together.  He was a lot of help.......
I sure wish he had got out in the deep stuff with me, but I figure it is just a matter of time.
By the time we left to go home, I was FREEZING.  You know playing in cold water takes a lot out of a guy.  I came home and slept all afternoon while My Vickie did errands and took care of our guests.
Before I go, I just wanted to send a little "Thinking of You" to my Charlotte.
Have a nice Sunday everyone.

Bert and My Vickie

hey Bert,

You are a super friend to share your swimming hole with Goose. Love all the photos! You are a great swimmer and fetcher! Both you and Goose are very handsome pups, and it looked like you two were having a blast! I am a snow dog myself, but I know I would love running with you through the fields to get to your swimming hole.

The last photograph is beautiful, and I am sure Charlotte received your thoughts loud and clear. :->

Sweet dreams!

That looks like a GREAT adventure, Bert! Dave and I aren't sure about that "swimming" thing, but splashing around sounds OK to me! (Dave doesn't like to get his feety-feet wet.) Maybe it's a breed thing?
Anyway - glad you and Goose got to have such fun - and WOWZERS, is that last photo GORGEOUS!!!

Hey Bert,

You're a great teacher!! Goose sure looked like he was having a good time, glad he helped you with that heavy stick buddy!!

Did your Vickie have a nice warm hot water bottle waiting for you at home? :)

Glad you're having so much fun,

Wow, you had such fun! You taught Goose really well, and he looked joyous! That last photo is spectacular. What more can I say?

I read about your retirement and your therapy work. I admire you so much. I am amazed at how gentle a romping giant like you can be. You are perfect for therapy work, and I am so happy for you.

I also enjoyed reading about your trip up high before winter shuts it down, and seeing the MOOSE!

You're a good friend, Bert, to show Goose all that neat stuff. And to share your sticks. Jed is a water dog, like you [Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever]. Abby is decidedly not.
