My Week Begins

After being on "Bed Rest" for three weeks, I was beyond excited to start my week with a whole day full of kids.  Me, Murphy, Tucker and our humans went to a Junior High School for the day where we did 7 different demonstrations that totaled about 300 + students.   AND IT WAS A BLAST.
Of course, it is extra fun because when we do demos in the schools, I am allowed to be off lead and travel through the kids getting my pets and love from one after another.
At one point I spotted a Blue Ball.  A BALL.   A BIG BLUE BALL.
I had to get it.   I just had to get it.  I stretched and stretched, but could not reach it.

UNTIL
Yep, I just stepped up onto the chair and BAMMMM the Big Blue Ball is MINE

At least until My Vickie saw "A BALL" in my mouth.....Then it was gone.....
This school had  the very coolest teachers ever.  See that person standing on the desk to see what I am doing.....Yep, that is the teacher.  She was so much fun all day.  And funny and fast and WOW, My Vickie was blown away with how cool she was.
And what were they laughing at.  Yep, I modeled the plastic bag rain jacket instead of Murphy.

OK Murph....I see what you mean.   This really isn't cool.
But even wearing a plastic bag is worth it in the end.  I think they are all crushin on me.  (Note for Charlotte,   "can you see our secret?")

Back at Home........
Murphy has come to stay with us for a few days.
It is such a relief to have someone else around to distract Allred.
Careful Murphy
Hey Jed and Abby,   Got any suggestions?????

Looks like you had a great day with the kids. I would like to know who was snapping the pictures of you stealing the ball and not stopping you? We all know that you and balls don't mix well.

I don't think Murphy has too much to worry about with Allred. With all that hair Allred can swipe all day and never hit skin.

Keep feeling better and stay away from the balls!

Bert in a bag, hahahhahhaha. Dude you can spot a ball a mile away. Looks like you had a great time with the kids. Good job.
That Murphy is one brave dog. But I am sure even Murphy can not stop Allred from being Allred.
Glad you are getting out more my friend.
Blessings,
Goose

I had (mercifully) forgotten all about Allred. How about I don't post any pictures of tennis balls and you don't post pictures of the devil cat?

Bert, it does my heart good to see you out and about again. It must be so fun to teach stuff to kids. I am glad you have a sleepover guest to play with.

p.s. Does Allred ever smile??? Maybe she has something stuck up her butt and it needs to come out. Has Vickie taken her to the Vet?? Just a thought.

We got quite nervous with you getting the blue ball. Thank goodness Your Vickie took it away from you. Phew.

Poor Allred. It can't be fun having that big floofy Murphy staring right at your face. :)

How creative you were to use the chair to try to reach the blue ball, Bert! You are so smart!

Love ya lots,
Mitch

It is wonderful to see those otherwise torpid teenage type humans actually looking life like. That, alone, makes you an excellent service dog.

As for evil Allred.... there appears to be no hope.

Very clever of you Bert to use that chair to get to the Big Blue Ball BOL! Gotta say though pal I was relieved when your Vickie made it disappear ;)

Congrats to Murphy for becoming an official member of the Therapy Dog Team! :D

Glad you had such a great day Bert :)

Um...Allred looks a bit PO'd BOL!

So good to see you out and about, Bert. But whoa, look at you on that chair, stretching up so high - careful, we don't want you getting hurt. And don't forget - NO BALLS!!!

It looks like Allred is back to normal. Guess he isn't too keen on houseguests. Poor Murphy, hope he backs away from the evil one.

I thought just "tennis balls" were off limits. Humans need to be more specific. (I think Murphy was sad not being the raincoat model -- you need 2 raincoats next time for both of you!)

At first I thought you wanted to read a book from that shelf. haha! Sorry about the blue ball, but glad your Vickie took it away!

You were so smart to find a way to get that ball! What a clever guy. Just don't eat any more of them.

Wow! It looks like you had a very exciting day! All that bed rest did wonders for you. I am sure the kids will remember your fun demonstrations for months to come.

After all the joy and help you brought, the least they could have done is let you keep that cool ball. I think you were pretty resourceful. Oh and that kitty at the end is pretty scary!

Me again :)

I forgot to mention...
I have a thought for how to distract Allred for a bit ;)

I think he would make a great addition to the cast of The Real Housecats of the Blogosphere. They're casting now for episode 3. If you haven't caught the show yet, you can get the skinny over at Pet Fiction Theater. I just put up a promo post for them today :)

Hey Bert,

You're such a good sport buddy with that plastic bag thing, there's no way I could do that, I get all scared when Dad touches the plastic bags and run to hide behind Mum's leg!!

Glad you've got reinforcements to tackle Allred, though I'm not sure I'd actually tackle him, he looks like he means business!!

Sorry it didn't work out after all your efforts to get the ball, Mum's just think they 'always' know best!! Doh!!

Have a fun day,

Your pal Snoopy :)

I'd be willing to wear the plastic bag if I got to get a bunch of loving from all those bipeds! That would be great!
I'm so glad you're getting out and about! Oh, and don't worry! Today's pic of me and Zim was while we were outside for a potty break. Mom is happy that I WANT to go on walks .... but she hasn't given in yet. YET! Ha woo.

Dave

I'm so happy that you're back in action, Bert. But stay away from those blue balls (or balls of any color, for that matter)!

The plastic bag demo must floor the students! What a cool teacher!

Jed and Abby in MerryLand said...

Have you considered giving Allred a nice, kitteh-sized ball that he could chew up and swallow :D Or you could just establish a DMZ around him: no doggie closer than 20 feet. Allred seems to have a pretty sensitive proximity alarm regarding doggies.

Bert, you must be ALL WELL now to stand on a chair and reach like that! That's great! I don't think I could ever do that because I'm too clumsy.

Say, that AllRed is something, isn't she? please take care of Murphy for me. Hugs, Georgia x

Looks like an awesome day, my friend! BTW -- is THAT the cat you want me to bring to my house? Really? He looks grumpy....

I'm so happy Bert finally got out and back into his element!

Am I the only one who feels the slightest bit sorry for Allred? All those dogs all the time. It must be exhausting. No wonder he's so cranky (although I have a feeling there's a bit of selective photo snapping going on here... I'm just sayin'.)
