Yep It is true, much to Dr. Doughty's surprise and to Vickies great delight........I have made it to my third birthday. Sunday May 15th marks a great and wonderous day......MY BIRTHDAY

Vickie promised me two years ago just after major surgery to remove a few rocks and some chew toys from my bowels, she promised that if I made it to my 3rd birthday we would celebrate for one whole week.

There were still two other blockages that made us wonder if Iwould make it, but here I am. 3 years old and in case you are wondering, much much wiser than I was one or two years ago.

I havn't eaten any rocks or stuffed toys for a few months now.

So for Breakfast this morning, Vickie prepared my most favorite meal. Hamburgers. I love hamburgers. Big juicy lucious burgers with all the trimmings.

Then I got to open a package that came a few days ago from my pal Reilly http://cowspotdog.blogspot.com/ I know it wasn't exactly a birthday present but it was really exciting to open.

My Vickie ordered some of Reilly & Bree's home made cards so we could send them out to my pals at Canine Country Club. They were beautiful and fun.....Thank you Reilly what a great time to get them. ON MY BIRTHDAY

Last week was a great opening for this weeks BIRTHDAY WEEK. We had such a busy week. It started out with CHILDREN. and you know how I love Children.

Instead of teaching them inside, me and Murhpy got to teach them at a park below the school. It was the first day of sunshine we have had for months so it was really really neat and fun. Plus they had a really great jungle jim.

When we were through teaching, we all just played and enjoyed each other. Some of the kids were so cute, I wanted Vickie to bring em home so's I could have em all for my own. But she wouldn't.

Murphy was a favorite of the kids to cuddle with. He is so big that they would use him as a back rest or a leaning post. I like that Murphy.

Here is this weeks "Video of the Week" for your viewing pleasure. Since it is my Birthday, I talked Vickie into using music I like.......

"I'm An Adventure Dog"

Back at the Day Care at the Kennel we had this one day when there was 5 big dogs that were all the same coller and all the same breed. Usually we have lots of labs but never this many weimers. I didn't realize it until all five of them were together, but they are kinda noisy.......

Gus is a bit of a barker too, but only when Vickie is trying to take his picture. I dont' think he likes the camera.

There was a bit of crushin going on too. Gigi and Max spend a lot of time together. They really like each other and it is kinda cute to watch them together. Now that I am older and understand what crushin is, I get a kick out of seeing this happen.

My buddy Dougal sent some more pictures of his hike last weekend and I put them on the video of the week. You should check it out. Dougal is the most best lookin golden....

I have this new friend named Remington.

Isn't he the most handsome guy. I have such good lookin friends.

On Wednesday after playing with the children Murphy and I went to do some Cadaver training in a special training area for search dogs. We met my buddy Keiser (the shepherd) who was also working the area so instead of working we all went down to the lake and Swam. Good choice. I'd take water over a dead body any time....Keeping up with our goal to cover 10 miles a week for the "Walking Challenge" http://www.lessonsfrom4legs.com/2011/05/03/walking-challenge-over-1000-miles-reached/

has been an extra chance to get out and hike and get to know our city better.

One day we met up with Vickies mom and KC. I took control of KC so Vickie and her mom could walk and talk. They were so proud of me. I am a great dog walker and baby sitter. I was so good, I asked her to put this video back up just one more time.

The country side is beautiful and I already knew that so our walks were most always in the hills
but one day we decided to walk through the city for our miles and we saw the most coolest stuff.

We came to this one area that was filled with walls painted with the most amazing images. Vickie put a lot of them in the Video of the week for you, but here are a few that I thought were extra cool.

Saturday was the big work day around the kennels so I dawned my work clothes and helped out. All in all it was the most incredible and busy week. However, next week is BIRTHDAY Week so I am expecting an even more fun time.

You know, Life is the best.

Hope you all have a great week too

Love

Bert

What an awesome birthday you had - but did I see onion on your burgar????? Onion is dangerous for doggies - just like chocolate is. I am so happy you liked the cards. Mom and I have been busy working on a new style today. They should be in the store soon and your wonderful gift to the elephants has already been sent to them.

Hi Bert - what an awesome party you had!!!Happy Birthday to you! We heard about your special day from Reilly. And we know Remington too - he IS a big dog, but he is such a sweetheart too. Now hamburgers are much better to fill your tummy with than rocks and stuffies:) Hope you have a great year ahead of you, Bert the Adventure Dog.

Happy Birthday Bert!! Reilly told us it was your birthday. My boy will be two in a month, he doesn't eat rocks or stuffed toys, but his start in life was a little rough too. He broke his leg at only 9 weeks old but now he's fine and runs agility.

Happy Birthday! You eat rocks too? The lady at PeeWee's daycare says that all the rock eaters are labs and goldens. What's up with that?

Happy Birthday, Bert! My 6 month b-day is at the end of the week. If you need a reason to keep celebrating, you can just tell them you are celebrating for me. That should give you a week and a day!!

Happy Belated Birthday Bert!!!! So sorry for the late wish. I have been busy last weekend. MMM that hammy looks delicious! You are so lucky to have it with onions, tomatoes & ketchup. We only get absolutely plain beef burgers. Only bread & beef patty. But we aren't complaining. They still taste incredibly goooood! I LOVE that picture of you with your friend & little children in the playground. It's very nice! OH & aren't those cards just great? Reilly's mom makes such lovely cards. I have a bunch of them kept in a secret place.

Hope you're having a great week! TATA!
