Be careful Bert! That looks downright dangerous. High water - yes, and torrents of it!

BTW, I forgot to answer your question about where and when I did SAR. I did it with my dog Acadia a long time ago when I lived on the Left Coast. I worked with a group called CARDA (Cal Rescue Dog Assoc). We stopped when Acadia had some very serious orthopedic issues.

Since then, people here in Colorado found out about my experience and tried to convince me to do SAR work here. The problem is that I have a horrendously bad back (long sections of my spine are fused) so I am afraid that I'd become a liability in the field (they were super nice, offering to give me a "buddy" who would walk with me and K on all searches but I still didn't feel right about it). For that reason, I'm not at all involved in SAR anymore.
