The River Grabbed My Vickie

Well, this is probably the last profile picture of me, taken by My Vickies new camera, that you are likely to see.
On our walk today we found a beautiful pumpkin patch, this is probably the last pumpkin picture you will ever see taken by My Vickies new camera.
The fall leaves have just barely started to change, down in the valley, and this is probably the last fall picture you will see taken by My Vickies new camera.
Murphy joined us for our walk....This is probably the last picture you will see of Murhpy taken by My Vickies NEW camera.
Probably the last picture of plants and berries taken by My Vickies New Camera.....
And the last picture of ME swimming in my favorite swimming hole, taken by My Vickie with the NEW Camera.

Why you ask?  Because As we made our way down across the water covered rocks to our favorite play area in the middle of the river, the waters jumped up and grabbed My Vickie's ankle and dragged her into the water.  (OK, she slipped) and down she went, NEW camera and all.

Oh yes, she tried to save her camera as she was balancing sideways with water flowing over half her body, one leg trapped under a fallen tree branch.  Yes, the first thing she asked her friend Paulette to do was "Grab the Camera".

Did you know how cold river water is in the fall......My Vickie said for humans, it is VERY COLD.

Big baby.

Oh well, she didn't like the NEW camera that much anyway.

Have a nice Friday everyone

Love
Bert

OH NO! I sure do hope your Vickie is OK. Let me tell ya Bert, I think you are crazy for loving the water so much. My MOM always trys to get me to swim in the stuff. NO WAY! When I was a young Goose the other people who had me threw me off a bridge into a river and that was it for me. Oh sure I will get in up to my ankles, but no further. Please tell your Vickie that my MOM and me are thinking of her and hope she is all warm now (you can help her with the warming up part).
Blessings,
Goose

They were very nice photos. But, mainly, I'm glad that your Vickie is OK!

Gosh! How terrible for the camera. But we're guessing Your Vickie is doing fine despite being plunged into icy cold water?

#1 says she really sympathises although her experience was not as bad (or wet...). A week after she got her new camera, she stumbled on something and fell over and he lens of the new camera got scratched...

Humans are so fragile. I bet that water wasn't really cold at all for a doggie. Did you have to practice your rescue techniques?

Sorry about the new flashy.

Hey Bert!
Wow, that's terrible about the new flashy beast! My dad likes to fall in when he goes fishing...we tell him that he doesn't go fishing, but rather takes his poles swimming! BOL Anyway, last time he went in the drink, he took down his brother's new camera instead of ours!! BWAR HAR HAR ahem. That'll teach em. Anyway, I hope Your Vickie is all warmed up and dry. BUY A NEW ONE! YOUR PIX ARE GREAT!!! :)

Oh MY... I hope Your Vickie didn't get hurt when the river grabbed her and the tree tried to hold her down.
The Flashy Beast Drowned? I suppose a lot of will be trying to do that. Do you suppose a little Dip in a Water Bowl would work???

Well, that wasn't a very good thing. We are glad Your Vickie is OK, but too bad about the camera. No way to save it?

Oh no! That's terrible. I'm so sorry for your Vickie but I'm very happy she's ok. Better to lose a camera, even a new one, than to get really hurt. Any chance the camera can be saved? Those pictures it took are really very nice.

Oh NO! My mom dropped her new camera in the sand after only having it for a week! Well, it sure took some beautiful pictures while it lasted!

Oh noes! Mom duss not believe in extended warranties but fur the furst time effur she got it on her new camera coz, well, with hiking, things like that happen coz the moms can be quite clutzy. Like last Monday a branch grabbed mom's ankles and sent her flying on rawks (she tripped ofur the branch) and she do be all banged up. If'n she had furs like you and me you would never be able to see her owies. I think she should not shave her legs fur a while to cover it up. Anyways, at least there woz no water and she did not squish the camera.

Oh how sad Vickie. As long as you are ok that is the best. You can always replace your camera. The photos are fab as always. At first we thought Bert might have had a little chew on it hehehe (or is that something we might do!). No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

So sorry that happened! Maybe you can salvage it! I jumped into my pool yesterday because it was 100 degrees... but that didn't make up for our nights in the 50s! SO COLD I thought I would pass out!

Assuming your Vickie did not try to power up the camera it might not have suffered a fatal illness. Tell her to remove the battery and memory card. Then place the camera in a bowl or pan filled with rice (to help absorb the moisture) and leave it alone for at least 3-4 full days. After four days, replace the battery and memory card and try to power up. If it won't work she will need to have a professional look at it.

Some bad news...unless your Vickie got a special warranty, most companies will say that dropping the camera in water voids the warranty.

Bert, I have to say this. You seem very indifferent to your Vickie's predicament. So you had best give her lots of support the next few days.

Oh Dear Bert - poor Vickie and the camera!

The BIG question is, did you rescue her? Even if she didn't really need it, you could have been a hero and rescued her and got lottsa treats, imagine if you'd have rescued the camera too?!

Glad she's ok,

Have a fun weekend,

Your pal Snoopy :)

Oh no! I sure hope she is okay. Did she have insurance on the new camera by chance? That mean old river. But those are some great last photos to go out with. :)

I am SO happy to hear the owners of the Weims came back to get them to. I think it would be good to keep a close eye on them though.

Waggin at ya,
Roo

PeeS: I hope you don't mind Bert, butt I snagged the last photo Your Vickie took with her NEW camera for your part in the show. Your BIG beautiful pink tongue was distorting your face too much when I closed your mouth. This one will enable you to look much more like your handsome self! :)

As wonderful as the camera has been, we can do without it. Vickie, on the other hand, is a necessity! Her we need!

I'm glad you're safe, Vickie!

Oh no! Well at least your Vickie got some nice pictures before the demise of the new camera.

I am sure My Vickie will replace the camera quickly. You know the crazy humans cannot live without their flashes!
