All in one day

PART ONE OF OUR DAY

As Many of you have heard the indomitable Rusty at The Thundering Herd has passed away.  This joyful child of whimsy will be missed by many and we want to send our love to the family.   When we first started to get to know Rusty and his family the word "Whimsical" was all we could think of.

(we borrowed this picture from their site.  Hope it is ok)
whim·sy
[ wímzee ]

  1. endearing quaintness or oddity: the quality of being slightly odd or playfully humorous, especially in an endearing way

Thanks Rusty for bringing such joy into our lives.

PART TWO OF OUR DAY

This has been a quiet weekend for us here at the kennel , Monday turned out to be very eventful.
I have received a ton of Christmas Cards.
See if you can find yours.
Thank you so much everyone for
including me in your Christmas Card List.

So Like I told you earlier, today was pretty
eventful.  I mean most of us doggy's just
hung around all day and slept.
My Vickie on the other hand had to deal
with two very nerve wracking things.
First thing this morning, she found out
that she WAS NOT going to prison.
You might remember that she had
committed a crime by breaking and entering
a vacant house in her search for Allred.

Well her conscience got the most of her
and she found out who the owner
was and called him and confessed.
He was pretty cool about it
and all My Vickie has to do
is pay for the door she broke.

Now I must tell you, she is not a bad person,
she was just desperate to see if
Allred had been locked in there
when they moved out.

PART THREE OF OUR DAY

Have any of you ever watched the Movie "Awake"

Well, Me and My Vickie watched it a few weeks ago.  Very creepy to be on the table and AWAKE.  You can't talk, you can't let them know, but you are AWAKE and you are experiencing everything they are doing to your body during surgery or any other procedure.

You might think it is just a movie, but today, My Vickie had to have a procedure done and guess what.  She was awake for almost the whole thing and they didn't even know it.  And she said it was scary and it hurt like a bugger.  (Her words, not mine)

Now don't worry, she is fine but "COME ON PEOPLE".

You can't imagine how it feels when you hear the doctor's panicked voice something like,
Dang it (not his words) I cant' get this.  Why can't I get this?   at the same time you feel them inside your body pushing and tugging and pulling.

SERIOUSLY:  What is up with that?

So, How Was Your Day?

Second, glad your Vickie came clean. I guess she is a saint.
Third I thought you were suppose to be awake for that. I guess I am confused as to what was happening and now I feel bad
See ya in the morning.

We, too, will miss the uniquely wonderful Rusty. What a lovely tribute.

We hope your Vickie does not have horrible nightmares of her ordeal and that she recovers quickly from the procedure. We are especially glad that she will NOT be going to prison...we just wish the "crime" had helped find Allred safe and ready to go home.

We saw our card there on your wall...we have to get mama to hang ours up!! Have a great day Bert...We sure are hoping and hoping that Allred will come HOME!! xoxo Chloe and LadyBug

I became awake during my colonoscopy. I remember yelling "OWWWWW!" and hearing the doctor tell the anesthesiologist to put more juice into me.

The thing about those drugs is that even if you are awake, you aren't supposed to remember. I guess sometimes they get the dosage wrong, but then you are totally screwed.

Hey Bert, good thing that guy was OK, bites was not ready to haul her to Blogville jail, cause looking for Allred was way more important then a door. Whew, finally saw our card, it was open and we almost missed it.

I'm so sorry to hear about Rusty. That's so sad to lose a friend...
I'm glad you haven't to celebrate Christmas in prison - and I'm glad the owner of the house has comprehension...and honestly, I'm sure we would do the same in this situation as your Vickie did.

Hi there, I liked how you divided your post into three parts. You certainly are popular with all those cards-that is because of all the love you two give! Glad Miss Vickie wasn't charged for getting into that place and that it is all cleared up now. That also must have been awful for your Vickie on the operating table-ouch is all I can say.
Glad you are enjoying the day though.
Lots of love, Noreen & Hunter

Hey Bert,

You're such a popular Doggie!! I would have sent a card too, but my Mum is STILL trying to get everyone together to take the Christmas photo, yep, she's WAY behind, think it will be Christmas before she gets it together!! :)

I'm so happy your Vickie isn't going to spend Christmas in prison Dude, she's such a good person,

Sorry to hear about Rusty :(

Sending you all big wags,

Your pal Snoopy :)

Whimsical is the perfect descriptor for Rusty. I'm really going to miss him.

I'm glad that Vickie won't be in prison... but I'm sure that you would've visited, right, Bert?

Last but not least... your Vickie experienced my greatest nightmare. I have literally had 10 surgeries (under general anaesthesia) in my life, and I cannot imagine a more terrifying thought that being awake without them knowing it. Oh my. I hope that you've recovered, Vickie.

Miss Vickie broke a door? Wow, we knew she was powerful! Did she kick it in like a judo sort of thing or ram it like a police raid?

That's pretty wonderful that she confessed and everything is OK about the "break-in". That should make all parties rest easier!
We were so sorry to hear about Rusty. :(

Bert, we're so sorry that Allred has gone AWOL. But we firmly believe he'll show up when you least expect him. We'll keep our paws crossed for him.

Mama also had anesthesia failure during a surgery. A truly unpleasant experience. Hope Vicki is ok now.

My Mind's Eye said...

Bert all that in one day....goodness me you need a long nap and Ms. Vickie might need a glass of spirits to ease her nerves. Your card collection is most impressive WTG

I am sorry to read about Rusty, paws crossed for his family. He is running free. I am glad you are having a relaxing day Bert and pals and especially glad that Vickie will not be serving any jail time. That was scary although, Mommy had a cake with a file all set to go.

Loveys Sasha

Vickie, when my daughter was born via Csection 27 years ago, I was put under and was not completely out. It was like torture, I will never forget it and have had many nightmares since. I felt the cutting(not the pain just the sensation), I heard them talking. I heard her cry and heard them say "its a girl. When they did wake me all the way up, I was hysterical, crying and screaming. I wish I didn't have that memory to keep on such an otherwise blessed day. I have been told since then that much has changed in anesthesia but I will never forget it. I hope you don't mind me sharing.

Thanks Anne
